how does date rape effect someone emotionally?

                         The effects of date rape are emotional as well as physical. After effects can include loss of trust in oneself and others, because a woman who knew her assailant may lose confidence in her ability to judge a person or their character. She may become fearful of many situations, particularly those that are new to her. She may go out of her way so much to avoid interactions with men, potentially causing difficulty for her in her daily routines and responsibilities that she has, such as going to class, or speaking to professors and acquaintances.
                     She may even feel the need to avoid her attacker, who may be a part of her daily life and watching her every move she makes. . Depression is a big effect after rape, and anxiety is common effects of rape, adding to the feelings of helplessness that a woman may already be experiencing. She may feel guilty or ashamed, blaming herself for the attack thinking she did something to cause it. Sexual problems may occur as a result of the woman and her partner being uncertain about how to relate to one another sexually after the assault not sure what to do.
                               i think date rape would be a very emotional thing to deal with if you've gone through that experience. i know if i  went through that experience i would have lots of nightmares, and it would hunt me for the rest of my life. i know someone who went through that situation and they shut themselves away from everyone, was too afraid to say anything to anyone not sure if they would believe, date rape or any rape for that matter is serious and very sick. i hope no one else has to go through that pain ever again.

The Consequences of date rape

             I think that someone who rapes somebody should serve a long sentence to make them learn their lesson for what they did, but i can't judge and that's not up to me to decide, but what i'm gonna talk about this weeks is what are the consequences of date rape? and how much jail time the person serves. it is not only men who rape but it's also the men who can be victims as well. 

          Going to prison is something that most people fear , the thought of their freedom being taken away for just maybe a few months is enough to keep most of them on a straight and narrow path. however be one reason or another , insanity or anger every once in awhile someone has a fall out with the law. fortunately in most of the countries the punishment always fits the crime. while a serious crime like date rape may result in a longer sentence or even life in prison. Justice varies from country to country in other states or terratories it may result in a leniant sentence.

              There are some countries that have zero policy and deliver a swift and final sentencing which may result in execution for which we would consider a lesser offense. for example in the middle east crimes such as rape, and murder have worser penalties that might include castration, Death or even a hand cut off in that exact order. there have however been tons of cases of record breaking jail sentences being handed down. but not all life sentences are created equal. in some of the countries life in prison may mean 20 years , with the opportunity of parole after 10 years or more. 

              So basically you heard my opinion already in the beginning of this blog and what i believe, i think the person should suffer in jail for what they did. make realize how wrong that crime was. what they can do to better themselves. seek lots of professional help. i know some people who have been raped and it's been so hard on them , they still continue to have nightmares after all these years. i know if something like that happened to me i would still be having nightmares to this day. but i hope all the rapest out there can be caught and pay for the crime that they committed. 

Targets of Date Rape

                    It seems that women are more targets of date rape then men are , for example, 

Eleven women hospitalised in Washington after their drinks were spiked with a date rape drug at a university party. Eleven women were rushed to the hospital after suffering heavy overdoses at the same party , may have had their drinks spiked with a very powerful date rape drug. Men at the party attended by Central Washington University students on Saturday night are being quizzed among suspicion that the victims were specifically targetted because of their gender. 

All but one of the twelve people who fell sick were women. 

Roslyn-Cle Elium Police Chief Scott Ferguson have said that 

‘It’s certainly a concern we have – that the women were targetted more than the men for possible nefarious reasons,’ which isn't right at all.

                    None of the women who were overdosed said they had been drinking heavily or taking any drugs , most of the women said that they only had one or two alcoholic drinks that night. 

‘Their level of intoxication just didn’t seem to make sense,’ he said. ‘We don’t believe this was just a result of heavy drinking. Whatever happened up there was not consensual or agreed upon. they don't believe that this was just a result of heavy drinking either. police aren't exactly sure what drug they had used . they are suspecting that the drugs that was used in the date rape were Roofies or some type of ecstacy, but that has yet to been found out. 

                         

                    Roofie', short for rohypnol, is another name for flunitrazepam, a tasteless and odourless  sedative more commonly known as the date-rape drug because it also  

causes amnesia where the victim won't remember anything that happened. and ecstacy is a  (Medicine / Pharmacology) Slang 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine; MDMA: a powerful drug that acts as a stimulant and can produce hallucinations. Many women were falling all over puking and getting sick , the ambulance was called immediately. the ones that brought their own alcohol or drink didn't fall sick, but the ones that didn't bring their own drinks all ended up puking. all the women who were hospitalized recovered in a few days. there were no suspects found, there was one man who was arrested when he was caught having sex with a half semi conscious woman , after he was arrested it was confirmed that the victim was actually his girlfriend. the university said everyone was shakened and saddened by this incident, and it will never be forgotten. 

                     That's why i feel you need to always make sure that you only drink at least a couple drinks so you don't get too intoxicated, that way you can remember what's going on in front of you. if the person starts coming on too strong come up with something to get them to back. what happened to these girls is sad and sickening, how could anyone in their right mind do that to someone this memory will haunt these girls for the rest of their lives. i don't think they'd wanna go to anymore party's after that, but some do. i just advise you to be cautious and careful. never lose sight of anything.i know if i was in that situation i wouldn't be able to forget about it for a long time. but i'm a very cautious and careful person and i will always keep my eye out and stay catious.
